Desensitize your Dog
Here are some videos we use to help desensitize all of our puppies which is part of the ENS/Puppy Culture Curriculum we follow.
As any experienced owner/breeder will tell you, introducing and desensitizing a puppy to various sounds, sights, and smells during the critical period of 3-14 weeks is vital for their overall wellbeing, development and behavior.
ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) is important to work on puppies starting at 3 days old.
Make sure to monitor their behavior and stop if they show signs of distress, such as excessive barking, trembling. whining, shaking, destructive behavior or cowering and/or hiding when sounds are heard

Here is an educational video on how to teach your puppy to use the Potty Bells.
Items needed: Potty Bells, clicker and training treats.
Potty Bells are great to teach your puppy to use especially if you do not have a doggy door to let themselves out.
This process helps to build their confidence, reduces fear-based responses and anxieties, and promotes calmness in diverse environments.

Remember, the goal is to help puppies feel confident and safe. So be sure to begin with low-level sounds and as they become more comfortable, gradually increase the volume. To encourage them try to link it to something positive such as a treat or praise and gentle playtime .
Other things you can do to help desensitize your puppy at home include:

-
Introducing household appliances like vacuums, blenders and hair dryers.
-
Having your puppy sit at a stop sign and watch cars go by
-
Invite friends and family over to meet your new puppy.
-
Introduce them to different people e.g. Sizes, ages.
-
Introduce hats, coats etc. that some of your guests may wear.
-
Have your guests use the doorbell
-
Turn your radio or TV on in the background while you're playing with your puppy or during meal time.
